Coinbase loses its first CTO Balaji Srinivasan today. Srinivasan served exactly one year and one day, suggesting that he served the minimum agreed period after his company Earn.com was acquired by Coinbase.
Srinivasan announced his move on Twitter, saying that he planned to take time off to get fit before launching his next product. Srinivasan claims that the Earn.com integration was successful and Coinbase has closed "~$200M in deals for the new Coinbase Earn". Srinivasan also mentioned that he helped to launch new assets on Coinbase, launching USDC, and launching support for cryptocurrency staking and voting, starting with Tezos.
Srinivasan founded various companies and was a General Partner at esteemed Venture Capital firm Andreessen Horowitz before founding Earn.com. Earn.com was acquired by Coinbase and Srinivasan became Coinbase's first CTO through the acquisition.
