At the IOHK Summit, IOHK's Director of Engineering Bruno Woltzenlogel Paleo presented Atala, an enterprise blockchain framework that was previously branded as Cardano Enterprise. The fundamental vision of Atala is to: "do for all data what bitcoin did for money".
Bruno claims that Cardano will enable new use cases that are not ideal on a public blockchain, like storing sensitive customer data. Atala will also act as a bridge connecting millions of users to the Cardano ecosystem through sidechain technology.
The announcement of Atala was not positively received by some members of the community. Users claimed that IOHK was diverting resources to work on Atala instead of Cardano. Others claimed that IOHK will be more focused on marketing and selling Atala than Cardano.
