In an official press release, Opera announces that they have secured a partnership with HTC and its browser becomes the default browser for the HTC Exodus. This is in contrast to Brendan Eich's original announcement that Brave would be the default browser.

In the press release, Opera claims that its browser is "the world’s first crypto-ready browser" and the first browser to take advantage of the Exodus's Zion Key Management API that allows highly secure access of private keys stored on the phone.

The press release writes:L "A prominent example of using Opera with the Zion wallet includes being able to make direct micropayments to content websites, which has the potential to reshape the face of journalism and create a new, content centred revenue stream away from the hands of controlling tech giants and click chasing advertising models."
